Meet Kate Cambor, Ph.D.

Kate created Cambor Educational Consulting to help young people of all abilities navigate the ever-changing post-secondary educational landscape. Using a holistic approach, Kate listens carefully to students and their families, prioritizing her clients’ educational and social/emotional needs, personal values, and individual goals. Drawing on her extensive knowledge of the college admissions landscape, Kate provides individualized and innovative guidance, removing the stress from the college search process for her clients and partnering with them to create an experience that is engaging, informative, and empowering.

As the parent of neurodivergent children, Kate is especially attuned to the needs of students with different learning styles and will guide students and families through the different types of support services and learning environments available. She enjoys working with students on a variety of “college readiness skills” (time management, self-advocacy, etc.) to prepare them for a successful transition from high school to college and to help them reach their full potential.

Kate graduated with a B.A. from Princeton University and a Ph.D in history from Yale University. A published author, Kate has been a teacher, mentor, writer and editor for the past 20 years and loves helping young people of all abilities find their voices and discover their talents.  She is an Associate Member of the International Educational Consulting Association and a Member of the New Jersey Association for College Admissions Counseling.  As part of her commitment to promoting greater academic accessibility, she also tutors and provides college application support to low-income students.
